"When I wouldn't budge, it became awkward after he called me inflexible and lectured me about the way the world works. After still maintaining my ground, he started to ask if I would work on a contract, part-time (10 hours) or commission-based, to which I said no. As I was leaving he had the audacity to ask me where he should send out ads for internships. "

I stopped by the bathroom on my way out, and a quick glance in the mirror revealed that my eyeliner had smeared. I looked like a football player with two black streaks. Two of the job's qualifications were "customer service" and "professional attire. " 13. I had brought a young woman in for an interview. She had temped for us before, so she was familiar with our company and had spoken to me in person before, but she still must have been nervous about the interview. I should point out that I am only 5 foot 1, and she (like most people) was a good bit taller than me. Anyway, I went out to greet her and get our interview started. She was sitting in our lobby, and I extended my hand and said something like, "Hi! Nice to see you again. " She stood up, shook my hand, looked down at me, and said, "Well, hi there, shorty! " 14. The candidate had done pretty well in the first interview, and I had invited him back for a second interview with my boss. He came across pretty well, but our main concern was his arrogance.

People shouldn't have to go through things like job interviews. I think it's so stupid how people eventually created this life where a person basically has to act like a perfect robot to get anywhere instead of just being themselves. Everyone, no matter if you're a little lazy or extremely hard-working, have nice clothes or can't afford a nice 'job interview outfit', EVERYONE'S gonna have to make a living and get a job eventually in order to survive (food, bills, etc. ) So I just don't get it. I wouldn't think the whole interview process was so stupid if they didn't act like you needed to be perfect or ask the stupidest questions just to try an intimidate you. I actually agree that an interview is a good way to see if a person is right for the job. You don't want to hire some theif without realizing just because their résumé was real thought out and professional. Of course I think an interview should be required, but they should make the interview process just a quick and unintimidating process where they ask you some RELEVANT questions, but it's more of a conversation to just get to know you as YOU.
